Medical Outreach To Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH)

 

LIVING HANDS FOUNDATION MEDICAL OUTREACH

The Foundation was at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) on Thursday 21st December 2023.

The Team led by the visioner Lady Ify Okafor paid visit to various wards at the hospital to be a blessing to the indigent patients who’s case are critical and have no means of footing their bills.

AT THE DIALYSIS CENTRE:
We paid cash for dialysis sessions for 3 patients at the centre.
We also visited the women’s ward where we met various children with various degrees of conditions.
We met a man who’s 3-year-old was admitted just immediately after the wife put to bed.
There was another child with critical condition, The highpoint of our visit to the ward was a 5-year-old who was been looked after by his 12-year-old sister because their mother had abandoned them at the hospital for the passed 3 months.
 We prayed with all of them, gave them loaves of bread and cash to support their treatment


AT THE EMERGENCY CENTER:
A woman was rushed to the ward but didn’t have N59,000 to undergo test to commence her treatment. The foundation paid N60,000 on the spot for the treatment to commence.
Another woman needed to run some tests on her swollen stomach which she couldn’t afford, the Foundation took care of that.
A woman was on blood transfusion for cancerous infection. The foundation supported her with cash. There were several other patients in the emergency ward that were given cash tokens


AT THE ONCOLOGY CENTRE:
We met 7 children between ages 10-15yrs undergoing treatment for various forms of cancer. We supported them with cash gifts and heartfelt prayers.

We also distributed loaves of bread to other patients and their visitors/carers with them.

All the patients were full of joy and appreciation to God ad to the team for showing them love that was least expected.

We donated a total of ₦900,000 which all went to those patients that couldn’t afford further treatment and the selections were based on advice of the various medical teams on duty.

Most payments were made directly to the hospital account while some patients were handed cash gifts directly.

The cash was funded from the monies realized during our “EARLY CHRISTMAS SHOPPING” activity during our 10th year anniversary held in October 2023.

We appreciate everyone that supported this outreach especially the team members that showed up physically at the hospital.

We would surely reap our rewards in mighty folds in Jesus name.
